Nick Shaw
Nick was appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the International Group of P&I Clubs in July 2019. Nick is responsible for co-ordination of the collective activities of the International Group member Clubs including the internal organisation of the Group activities, co-ordinating the formulation and development of Group policies, the operation of the Group large claims pooling and reinsurance arrangements and the representation of the Group at inter-industry, government and intergovernmental levels.
Nick has practised in Shipping and Marine Insurance law since 1990, and has extensive knowledge and experience of the Shipping Industry and the P&I world coupled with considerable high level management experience gained as the Shipping Group Practice leader at the former Richards Butler from 2003-2007, and, following its merger with US based international law firm Reed Smith as Global Shipping Industry Group Leader from 2007-2019. He has extensive experience of the Asian market having lived and worked in Hong Kong for two years and managed teams there and in Singapore.
Camilla Slater
Camilla joined the Group Secretariat in 2021. She supports the work of the Group's committees. Camilla has extensive experience in shipping and P&I gained over several years in the Claims and Legal departments at the Shipowners' Club. Camilla was Head of Legal at the Shipowners' Club from 2016-2021. Camilla previously practised shipping law at HFW.
David Bolomini
David has been a member of the Group Secretariat since October 2011 following over 20 years in the UK government, including representing the UK at both the IMO and the IOPC Funds. David has responsibility for, amongst others, the Group Bills of Lading, Regulatory Affairs and Compulsory Insurance Committees as well as covering matters relating to sanctions and the ILO Maritime Labour Convention.
Jas Mahrra
Jas joined the Group Secretariat in March 2020. Prior to joining, Jas worked in Government, industry, academia and ran a successful consultancy. She has experience of delivering a range of advisory services in risk, resilience and security to transnational corporations, major financial institutions, think-tanks and UK Government and Agencies. Jas is providing support to the Group’s Committees.
Danielle Datta
Danielle joined the Group Secretariat in 2021 following several years working in claims for Standard Club (now NorthStandard). She is a qualified solicitor (2015) and previously worked for Reed Smith specialising in maritime and insurance litigation. Danielle’s day-to-day work includes supporting the Reinsurance Committee, including its various Working Groups such as Group Risk Retention and Malicious Cyber. Danielle helps manage the Group’s sustainability strategy and reporting as part of her role supporting the Sustainability Committee. She also works with the Salvage and Large Casualty Committees which involves liaison with the salvage industry and maritime authorities around the world as well as undertaking reviews of the largest and most complex claims affecting the Group in recent years. She supports the Amicus Briefs Committee in connection with complex legal cases where the Group might consider intervener applications. More recently, Danielle has been working on data initiatives seeking to improve data collection within the Group Clubs.
Catherine Grey
Catherine has been a member of the Group Secretariat since November 2014 and was previously Head of Information Systems at ITOPF and more recently Head of the External Relations and Conference Department at the IOPC Funds. Catherine has an MBA and within the Group Secretariat is responsible for the Personal Injury, Occupational Diseases and Correspondents Committee.
Daisy Roche
Daisy joined the Group Secretariat in August 2023. Before joining the Group, Daisy spent nearly a decade working at The Shipowners’ Club in the Claims and Legal Department, including her last role as Head of Legal. Daisy is a qualified solicitor and prior to working in P&I, practiced shipping law at HFW. Daisy will provide support to the Group‘s Committees
Annie Stow
Annie joined the International Group Secretariat in 2023. Prior to joining the Group, Annie was a Professional Development Director at NorthStandard P&I Club for a period of four years, following a successful seven-year tenure as a claims handler. Annie is a qualified lawyer with a particular focus on Education. Annie is responsible for enhancing and expanding the Group’s education outreach programme.
Sophia Boutalbi
Sophia joined the Group in May 2020. With over 10 years’ experience Sophia has worked across all areas of B2B marketing, driving business initiatives. Sophia’s main focus is to drive the Group’s Brand & Communications programme. Working within the Group’s Secretariat team she is responsible for external communications including PR, brand development and campaigns, content and digital marketing.
Georgia Bunn
Georgia joined the Secretariat team at the start of 2020 to work as an administrative assistant. Since then, her role has evolved to include coordination and preparation of Group budgets as well as the general office accounts. She also helps coordinate the day-to-day administration and operation of the Secretariat and provides key support on general office management and services.
Adele Edmondson
Adele joined the Secretariat this year, working as PA to the CEO. This includes various organisational and administrative tasks to other members of the secretariate as well as the CEO. Adele has over 3 years’ experience in administrative logistics and transport management and hopes to further develop her knowledge and experience during her time here.
Michael Dear
Michael has over 20 years managing and maintaining IT infrastructure in the financial services sector. He joined the secretariat in 2020 and will oversee the IT for the International group.
