The International Group of P&I Clubs and our Education Committee are pleased to announce the winners of the 2024 P&IQ Scholarship Programme. Having promised to award four scholarships, the Education Committee were so impressed by the volume of excellent applications that it was decided that seven scholarships would be awarded this year.
The scholars for 2024 are Vincent Barake Omboga, Stefani Diamantaki, Jonathan Iwuchukwu Ifeanyi, Fernando Rea Morones and Captain Vijendra Dogra. The Correspondent scholars for 2024 are Ahmed Irtiza and Ranchesca Jissel Bautista.
The P&IQ Scholarship application for 2025 will open in the November 2024. Further details will be released later in the year.
The Group Chair of the Education Committee, Chris Adie, passed on his good wishes to all P&IQ Scholarship applicants and Scholars:
“We were pleased to see that the IG P&I Qualification Scholarship programme has generated such interest globally. We were delighted to receive applications from Brazil, China, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Iran, Kenya, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Taiwan, Tunisia, Turkey, UK, Ukraine and Uruguay. Thank you to all those who applied. We enjoyed reading your applications and were impressed by the knowledge, skills and expertise listed.
We wish to on congratulate the seven awarded a Scholarship: Ahmed Irtiza (Correspondent scholar), Ranchesca Jissel Bautista (Correspondent scholar), Vincent Barake Omboga, Stefani Diamantaki, Jonathan Iwuchukwu Ifeanyi, Fernando Rea Morones, Captain Vijendra Dogra. We are pleased that they have all accepted the scholarship and hope that they enjoy the course. Our successful applicants are excellent candidates and have real value to deliver to the industry in future. Through the award of these scholarships, we hope to retain and build on their skills and experience for the wider industry benefit. We are looking forward to our engagement with both candidates and the assistance that we can provide as they undertake the P&IQ qualification.”
